Deeming Rate was quick to begin. Dimora Jet was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start. Bank Heist, Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens collided soon after the start. Mt. Elgin Lass checked off Bank Heist approaching the first turn. Bank Heist, Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens collided on the first turn checking Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens, causing Dimora Jet to check off Blazing Joe severely checking Blazing Joe which fell, in turn checking Dimora Jet, Blackjack Tiger and Mt. Elgin Lass. Mt. Elgin Lass and Blackjack Tiger collided entering the home straight. Deeming Rate and Bank Heist collided approaching the winning post.

Bank Heist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ricky Coleman, the trainer of Bank Heist regarding its performance approaching the winning post. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Bank Heist must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Blazing Joe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Blazing Joe was found to have an injury to the right monkey muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.  

Enrique Fernando was slow to begin. Xandra Bale and Moraine Jade collided soon after the start. Moraine Jade and Enrique Fernando collided on the first turn. Moraine Jade checked off Moraine Lucy approaching the home turn.

Sonny Cabang went up with the lids. Time Turner was slow to begin. Keep It Sassy, Rip The Pip, Fend Them Off and Nimble Sammi collided approaching the first turn checking Keep It Sassy and Fend Them Off. Nimble Sammi and Time Turner collided on the first turn checking Fend Them Off. Rip The Pip checked off Zambora Jay on the first turn. Sonny Cabang underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Marshman, the trainer of Sonny Cabang regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching  the home turn. Mr Marshman declined the option to have the greyhound revetted. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Sonny Cabang was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Marshman pleaded guilty to the charge, Sonny Cabang was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zipping Dudley checked off Zipping Tula approaching the first turn. Majestic Jewel and Miracle Brew collided approaching the first turn checking Majestic Jewel. Big Brew and Larkin Bale collided on the first turn. Flying Frank and Zipping Tula collided on the first turn. Miracle Belle and Majestic Jewel collided on the first turn checking Majestic Jewel. Big Brew and Larkin Bale collided approaching the home turn. Big Brew crossed out wide in the home straight and collided with Flying Frank and Zipping Tula.

Trainer, Mr Mark Delbridge was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Beatrix Bale pursuant to GAR 33.

Meeting Comments:

Stewards today concluded an inquiry into an incident in the catching pen at Warrnambool on Tuesday March 22 2022, involving licensed person Mr Johnathon Gaut. After hearing evidence, Stewards issued a charge under GAR 86q which deals with acting in a manner which is detrimental to the image of Greyhound racing, in that Mr Gaut used obscene language on several occasions. 

Mr Gaut pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250.00.
