A pre-race sample was taken from Loves To Talk.
Green Opal was slow to begin.
Scar's Girl and Rothwell Elzinga collided soon after the start, checking Scar's Girl; causing Scar's Girl to falter and tail off as a result. Brian Basilisa and Melissa Keeping collided soon after the start, checking Brian Basilisa. Love To Talk and Dr. Matrix collided on the first turn. Wendy Witch checked off Loves To Talk on the first turn. Loves To Talk checked off Dr. Matrix approaching the home turn. Green Opal and Loves To Talk collided on the home turn. Green Opal and Rothwell Elzinga collided approaching the winning post.
Scar's Girl underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 74 Scar's Girl must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 72 and receive a veterinary clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Dr. Matrix - second placed in the event.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and deemed it was satisfactory for racing.
