Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Cairnlea Winnie.
Illegal Way checked off Candlelight Jazz soon after the start. Candlelight Jazz and Crown Ella collided approaching the first turn. Cairnlea Winnie and Who Did That collided on the first turn; checking Cairnlea Winnie, Who Did That, Bondy Bear, Yeva Bale and Crown Ella. Yeva Bale checked off the heels of Bondy Bear on the home turn; causing Bondy Bear to race wide. Bondy Bear visably eased entering the home straight and in the home straight, checking Cairnlea Winnie. Crown Ella raced wide entering the home straight. Candlelight Jazz and Yeva Bale collided in the home straight.
Bondy Bear underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Dallan Klemke regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Bondy Bear was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Bondy Bear was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
