A pre-race sample was taken from Riverdale Goldie.
Ticket To Venus began awkwardkly and was very slow to begin (4L).
Riverdale Goldie, Balbina Bale and Aston Spinel collided approaching the first turn. Miss Molly Lee, Riverdale Goldie and Aston Spinel collided on the first turn; severely checking all three greyhounds; causing Aston Spinel to fall. Loretta Bale and Hannele Bale collided on the home turn, checking Hannele Bale.
Miss Molly Lee underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Spinel underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg radius/ulna fracture and elbow injuries. Aston Spinel was humanely euthanised.
