Tiger Blurton and Full Moon Party were quick to begin.
Alpine Blaze, Redzin and Aerolithology collided on the first turn checking Redzin, Alpine Blaze and Ziems Park Miss. Crumb Snags and Full Moon Party collided on the second turn checking Crumb Snags, Full Moon Party and Ask For More. Crumb Snags checked off Aerolithology on the home turn checking Ziems Park Miss. Alpine Blaze and Ziems Park Miss collided entering the home straight checking Ziems Park Miss. Alpine Blaze and Ziems Park Miss collided several times in the home straight. Alpine Blaze visibly eased in the home straight.
Alpine Blaze underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Ms Margaret Brealey declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Ms. Brealey, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Alpine Blaze was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Brealey pleaded guilty to the charge, Alpine Blaze was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
