Dennis Delight was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Mt. View Bro, Bolt For Biers and My Name's Judy collided soon after the start. Bolt For Biers, Dennis Delight and My Name's Judy collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Dennis Delight checked off Mt. View Bro on the first turn. Bolt For Biers and Dennis Delight collided entering the home straight. Don't Tell Julie and Stormy Lights collided in the home straight checking Stormy Lights. Don't Tell Julie visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post colliding with Stormy Lights.
Don't Tell Julie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 4. No apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Patrick Furci, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Don't Tell Julie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Furci pleaded guilty to the charge, Don't Tell Julie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72 , before any future nomination will be accepted.
