A pre-race sample was taken from Jaggered.
Rigg, La La Missouri and Jaggered collided soon after the start, checking Jaggered. Rigg, La La Missouri, Rasputia and Slippery Swan collided on the first turn; checking Rasputia, La La Missouri and Slippery Swan; causing Rasputia, Slippery Swan, Jaggered and Kandinsky to collide; checking Rasputia and Slippery Swan; severely checking Kandinsky and Jaggered; Jaggered fell as a result. Abby's Illusion raced wide in the home straight.
Jaggered underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the left hindleg hock, abrasions and bruising to the right knee. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Kandinsky underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and bruising to the right foreleg and hindleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
