Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Nick.
Crymelon Quick was slow to begin.
Dr. Chelsea, Zumba Lena and Myola Pocket collided soon after the start. Lektra Nick checked off President Peggy approaching the first turn. Myola Pocket and Patrica's Damien collided on the first turn. Lektra Nick and Zumba Lean collided on the home turn. Zumba Lena marred President Peggy entering the home straight and again in the home straight.
Zumba Lena underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left right hindleg abrasions. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Patrick Furci, the trainer of Zumba Lena regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zumba Lena was charged with marring. Mr Furci pleaded guilty to the charge, Zumba Lean was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
