Steward's Report
All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.6 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Luna Cruz, Plagiarise, Torquay Bale collided soon after the start. Knowing and Lady Zeeva collided soon after the start. Torquay Bale and Rohan Bale collided on the first turn checking Rohan Bale, Zambora Charlie and Lady Zeeva, Zambora Charlie and Lady Zeeva raced wide as a result. Luna Cruz, Plagiarise and Knowing collided on the first turn. Zambora Charlie faltered entering the back straight. Torquay Bale and Rohan Bale collided approaching the home turn.
Zambora Charlie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury and abrasions to the left and right hindlegs. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr Luke Thompson regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the back straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Thompson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Soda Success - winner of the event.
