Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Diamond Cartel.
Manila Shine and Count Me In were slow to begin.
Tall Poppies checked off Diamond Cartel soon after the start. Manila Shine galloped on King Of All on the first turn checking both greyhounds. King Of All checked off Diamond Cartel on the first turn. Diamond Cartel checked off King Of All entering the home straight. High Priority checked off Why Not Kez entering the home straight. Tall Poppies turned it's head inwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Tall Poppies underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms Cheryle Ragen, the trainer of Tall Poppies regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Tall Poppies was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Ragen pleaded guilty to the charge, Tall Poppies was found guilty and suspended for 90 days at all Tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
