Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms A. Powell regarding the scratching of Que Up, as the scratching has afforded an empty box in the event. Ms Powell explained that Que Up was a scratching due to being seasonal, she further added that it will take 28 days for the greyhound to resume racing. Stewards noted her explanation.
The Heat Policy was dispersed prior to the running of this event.
Aston Jansz was slow to begin. Bongino, Stack and Husky Freckle collided approaching the first turn checking Bongino, severely checking Husky Freckle. Husky Freckle brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Bongino and All Inn Christy collided on the first turn. Stack and Lightning Blue collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Bongino, Stack, Totally Know and Lightning Blue.
Husky Freckle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right carpal sprains and an injury to the left shoulder muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S. VanTaarling, the Representative of Husky Freckle regarding its performance in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Husky Freckle must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Totally Know underwent a post-race veterinary examination following a catching pen incident and was found to an injury to the right monkey muscle and a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
