Steward's Report
Alira Gem was quick to begin. Alira Gem turned its head outwards soon after the start. Striker Jack galloped on Alira Gem approaching the first turn checking Alira Gem.
Alira Gem underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Alira Gem was found to have an injury to both hocks. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Nathan Hunt regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Alira Gem was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hunt pleaded guilty to the charge, Alira Gem was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
