Steward's Report
Baffling and Exit Sign were quick to begin. Sheriff Demon was slow to begin. Miss Mikado crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Exit Sign. Flick’s Dilemma checked off Chasing The High on the first turn. Exit Sign turned its head inwards and marred Sheriff Demon approaching the winning post.
Exit Sign underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right hamstring. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Nathan Hunt, the trainer of Exit Sign regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Exit Sign was charged with marring. Mr. Hunt pleaded guilty to the charge, Exit Sign was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Sheriff Demon - winner of the event.
