Esava was quick to begin.  Built Different, Mt. View Bro and Upheaval were slow to begin.

Galloping Latte and Dunwerkin collided soon after the start.  Blazing Beth checked off Papalia Bale approaching the first turn.  Galloping Latte brushed the running rail approaching the first turn.  Dunwerkin and Papalia Bale collided approaching the first turn.  Blazing Beth and Built Different collided on the first turn.  Dunwerkin and Blazing Beth collided on the second turn.  Galloping Latte checked off Upheaval in the back straight.  Blazing Beth and Built Different collided in the back straight.  Blazing Beth checked off Built Different approaching the third turn.  Dunwerkin and Papalia Bale collided approaching the winning post. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Built Different on 21 December 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. Matt Johnson, regarding the increase in distance for Built Different in this Event given that the greyhound has only had two starts at Healesville over the 300m.  Mr. Johnson told Stewards that the greyhound has been trialling over the 450m distance at Sale and Warragul and has run the best home times.  Stewards noted Mr Johnson's explanation. Stewards directed a post-race sample be taken, Built Different placed 4th in the event.

Barnsy and Audenzia were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Demon Flyer, Tennessee Plates and Charlotte's Hand collided on the first turn.  Barnsy and Audenzia collided on the first turn.  Demon Flyer checked off Charlotte’s Hand on the second turn checking Demon Flyer and Salut Sideways.  Audenzia checked off Demon Flyer entering the back straight.  

Meet Winston was quick to begin.  Fabriola Yanis went up with the lids and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Darnum Dancer and Crymelon Libby collided soon after the start.  Darnum Dancer checked off Crymelon Libby on the first turn checking Skibo Boy.  Crymelon Ivy checked off Jebrynah Astra on the first turn.  Darnum Dancer and Crymelon Libby collided on the third turn.  Skibo Boy faltered on the third turn and lost considerable ground as a result.  Crymelon Ivy and Meet Winston collided in the back straight. Darnum Dancer checked off Meet Winston on the fourth turn.  Darnum Dancer and Meet Winston collided on the home turn.

Skibo Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hind hock.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed. 

A post-race sample was taken from Red Impact - winner of the event.  

Go Jack – Late scratching at 1.37pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to diarrhoea. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Madam Chelsea and Trenzalore were slow to begin.

Trenzalore checked off Kuta Cowboy on the first turn.  Shining Gem and Kuta Cowboy collided approaching the second turn and again approaching the third turn.  Trenzalore checked off Shining gem approaching the second turn.  Trenzalore and Kuta Cowboy collided in the back straight.  Madam Chelsea checked off Cryptic Vixen approaching the winning post.

Ashby Swift was slow to begin.

Bad Medicine checked off Mazikeen Smith approaching the first turn.  Jayville Hope checked off Mazikeen Smith.  Bad Medicine checked off Mazikeen Smith entering the back straight.  Ashby Swift checked off Jayville Hope in the back straight.  Jayville Hope brushed the running rail approaching the third turn.  Mazikeen Smith checked off Leeky Lee in the home straight.  

Lucy's Villa and Not Happening collided soon after the start.  Egyptian Tiger and Mobile Legend collided soon after the start.  So Hazy and Egyptian Tiger collided in the front straight.  So Hazy, Egyptian Tiger, Pay The Prince and Mobile Legend collided on the first turn.  Pay The Prince and Mobile Legend collided on the second turn.  Sir Harley and Pay The Prince collided in the back straight.  Pay The Prince and Lucy's Villa collided approaching the home turn causing Lucy's Villa to race wide.  Not Happening and Sir Harley collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Lucy's Villa underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Westside Warrior and Three Wishes were slow to begin.

Zipping Loxley and Zipping Crusader collided soon after the start.  Zipping Crusader and Westside Warrior collided soon after the start checking Westside Warrior.  Westside Warrior checked off Zipping Crusader in the front straight.  Town Rocker and Three Wishes collided on the first turn and again on the second turn.  Westside Warrior and Three Wishes collided in the back straight.  Three Wishes checked off Westside Warrior approaching the third turn.  Westside Warrior and Town Rocker collided approaching the home turn checking Town Rocker.  Westside Warrior and Three Wishes collided on the home turn. Roxy Smirnoff and Three Wishes collided in the home straight.

Midnight Vandal – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.

So Predictable underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Cybertruck – Late scratching at 1.23pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Matt Johnson was fined $100.

Zippy Audi was quick to begin.

Luna Cruz and Here Comes Pie collided soon after the start.  Zipping Utah checked off Retro Rocket approaching the first turn.  Luna Cruz and Here Comes Pie collided on the first turn and again entering the back straight.  Luna Cruz checked off Here Comes Pie in the back straight.  Luna Cruz checked off Zippy Audi in the back straight.  Zipping Utah checked off Luna Cruz approaching the third turn.  

Zipping Utah underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hind hock.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Jazz was slow to begin.

Our Shout and Kamara Bale collided soon after the start.  Kamara Bale and His Got Tow collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Jazz Nangar Ellie collided on the first turn.  Aston Jazz checked off Mt. View Buck in the back straight severely checking Aston Jazz in-turn checking His Got Tow.  Mt. View Buck checked off Our Shout on the third turn.

Aston Jazz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left shoulder.  No stand down period was imposed.

Mussa Jack and Defensible were slow to begin.

Crackerjack Lach and Mussa Jack collided soon after the start.  Capra and Zipping Jazz collided in the front straight.  Road To Cairns checked off Jayla Strike approaching the first turn.  Capra, Zipping Jazz, Crackerjack Lach, Mussa Jack, Grey Not Blue and Jayla Strike collided approaching the first turn checking Mussa Jack, Grey Not Blue, Jayla Strike and Road To Cairns.  Zipping Jazz and Defensible collided on the first turn.  Mussa Jack and Jayla Strike collided on the first turn.  Roads To Cairns checked off Grey Not Blue in the back straight causing Road To Carins to lose ground.  Defensible checked off Crackerjack Lach on the home turn.  

Road To Cairns underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left flexor tendon injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
