Jazz Opera, Elarbee Mercury and Trending Quarter collided soon after the start checking Elarbee Mercury and Trending Quarter. Happy Ruby and Night To Burn collided approaching the first turn. Rufus Scrimgeour, Happy Ruby, Night To Burn and Jazz Opera collided on the first turn checking Jazz Opera, Elarbee Mercury and Digitorum. Jazz Opera and Elarbee Mercury collided on the second turn. Rufus Scrimgeour checked off Night To Burn on the second turn. Trending Quarter galloped on the heels of Lala Ivory approaching the home turn checking Trending Quarter, Lala Ivory and Digitorum. Trending Quarter and Digitorum collided entering the home straight. Night To Burn marred Happy Ruby approaching the winning post.
Night To Burn was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr W. Gray regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Night To Burn was charged with marring. Mr Gray pleaded guilty to the charge, Night To Burn was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
