Steward's Report
Inuka was quick to begin. Scuba Steve was slow to begin. Top Faith and Ironclad collided several times approaching the first turn. Scuba Steve visibly eased on the first turn and subsequently pulled up on the home turn.
Scuba Steve underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. B. Mackie declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Mackie regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Scuba Steve was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Mackie pleaded guilty to the charge, Scuba Steve was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
