Steward's Report
Gypsy Wyong was quick to begin. Zac's Entity was slow to begin. Hank The Hustler and Stanley Road checked off Mepunga Ruby soon after the start. Mepunga Ruby checked off Super Estrella approaching the first turn. Mepunga Ruby checked off Zac's Entity approaching the second turn. Zipping Niseko and Zac's Entity collided approaching the third turn checking Zipping Niseko. Gypsy Wyong and Zac's Entity collided on the third turn. Super Estrella checked off Zac's Entity on the third turn. Zac's Entity turned its head outwards and marred Stanley Road on the home turn. Stanley Road fell as a result.
Stanley Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination following the event. No apparent injury was reported.
Zac's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left front nail. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative, Mrs J. Greenough regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zac's Entity was charged with marring. Mrs Greenough pleaded guilty to the charge and Zac's Entity was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race samples were taken from the following placegetters: Gypsy Wyong (1st, urine and blood sample), Zipping Niseko (2nd) and Super Estrella (3rd).
