Steward's Report
Representative, Mr David Mckenzie was issued a fine of $50 pursuant to GAR 31, due to the greyhound Golden Skyrocket being kennelled after the appointed closing time.
A pre-race sample was taken from Big Fonzie.
Husky Flyer, Big Fonzie and Aston Sonic collided soon after the start checking Husky Flyer and Big Fonzie. Sassenach, Aston Sonic, Drakensberg Dot and Litigator collided on the first turn checking Big Fonzie, Sassenach, Aston Sonic, Drakensberg Dot and Litigator. Aston Sonic, Drakensberg Dot and Litigator collided on the home turn checking all three greyhounds. Drakensberg Dot and Litigator collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Golden Skyrocket and Merry Lass collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Alisdair Armstrong regarding the boxing of Sassenach in this event. After hearing evidence from Mr Armstrong and the Steward at the start, it was established that the greyhound Sassenach was almost placed in the incorrect starting box prior to the greyhound being repositioned into the correct starting box. After considering the evidence presented, the fact that the start was not delayed and Mr Armstrong's offence record, a warning was issued for his negligence pursuant to GAR 86(o).
