Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Laquita Gem and Alira Gem collided several times from soon after the start to the 250m mark. Queen Sal turned its head inwards, crossed in and collided with Blue Cherry Miss soon after the start and again at the 225m mark checking Queen Sal, Blue Cherry Miss and Mischief Lass. Mischief Lass and Queen Sal collided at the 150m mark. Mischief Lass, Laquita Gem and Frantic Funfetti collided at the 75m mark checking Frantic Funfetti. Mischief Lass and Queen Sal collided at the 50m mark.
Queen Sal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3. Queen Sal was found to have a right thigh injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Tony Salpigtidis regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start and at the 225m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Queen Sal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Salpigtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Queen Sal was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
