Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Peccavi was quick to begin. Okara Bale, Zoomer Bale and Brave Lad were slow to begin.
Brave Lad checked off Gogo Lillian soon after the start. Marrying checked off Mt. View Gem on the first turn severely checking Marrying and Brave Lad, causing Brave Lad to stumble and lose considerable ground. Zoomer Bale checked off Okara Bale on the first turn. Okara Bale and Zoomer Bale collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Zoomer Bale and Gogo Lillian collided several times in the home straight. Zoomer Bale veered in and marred Gogo Lillian in the home straight.
Brave Lad underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Zoomer Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jack Stutt, the representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zoomer Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Strutt pleaded guilty to the charge, Zoomer Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
