Aranyi and Mayfair Ronnie collided soon after the start. Alira Gem and Lady Of Leisure collided approaching the first turn checking Alira Gem. Alira Gem and Joyous Spirit collided on the first turn. Lady Of Leisure and Riverdale Poppy collided approaching the home turn checking Lady Of Leisure which lost ground. Joyous Spirit marred Alira Gem entering the home straight and in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds. Riverdale Poppy raced wide in the home straight. Lady Of Leisure lost ground in the home straight.
Lady Of Leisure underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Joyous Spirit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle, left and right groin injuries. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Deborah Coleman, the Kennel Representative, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Joyous Spirit was charged with marring. Ms. Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge and Joyous Spirit was suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
