A pre-race sample was taken from Have A Roadie.
Pyrenees Spirit was quick to begin.
Alabama Anna and Crazy Old Duck collided soon after the start, checking Alabama Anna; causing Alabama Anna, Dundas Houdini and Worms Are Biting to collide. Crazy Old Duck and Al's Vixen collided on the first turn. Crazy Old Duck checked off Al's Vixen approaching the home turn; severely checking both greyhounds, Al's Vixen lost ground, checking Worms Are Biting; causing Worms Are Biting and Dundas Houdini to collide, checking Alabama Anna. Worms Are Biting checked off Dundas Houdini on the home turn.
Al's Vixen underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg pencil/whip injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
