Steward's Report
Crumb Snags was slow to begin.
Not Arandt checked off Happy Hannah on the first turn. Not Arandt and Crumb Snags collided on the second turn checking Crumb Snags. Jazz Icon visibly eased on the third turn. Crumb Snags and Jazz Icon collided on the third turn causing Jazz Icon to fall checking Crumb Snags. Butterfly Indee and Not Arandt collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Not Arandt tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Not Arandt underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Butterfly Indee underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left elbow and left achilles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr T Boehmke regarding the racing manners of Butterfly Indee approaching the third turn and in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Boehmke, viewing the available race footage (head on not available) and acting on their own observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
Jazz Icon underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr B Pursell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Jazz Icon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Pursell declined a revet and pleaded guilty to the charge, Jazz Icon was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Happy Hannah - the winner of the event.
