Nevaeh Bale was quick to begin.
Attitude, Tiger Time, Stiff Wind, Molly Byrnes and Barooga Smoke collided soon after the start. Attitude and Stiff Wind collided approaching the first turn. Tiger Time and Molly Byrnes collided approaching the first turn. Attitude checked off Stiff Wind on the first turn; causing Attitude, Aston Express and Spring Bjorn to collide; checking Attitude, Tiger Time and Spring Bjorn; causing Aston Express to fall. Attitude checked off Spring Bjorn approaching the home turn.
Aston Express underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
