Weblec Opal was quick to begin.
Wizardry Magic and Tweet It Sweet collided soon after the start. Ned's Reward checked off Weblec Opal on the first turn. Ned's Reward, Weblec Opal and Whakahoro collided entering the home straight, checking Weblec Opal. Weblec Opal checked off Ned's Reward in the home straight. Weblec Opal raced wide in the home straight.
Spitfire Striker underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hindleg paw. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Geoffrey Mitchell regarding the racing manners of Spitfire Striker in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Mitchell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
Tweet It Sweet underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
