The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays en–route to the track.  The kennels closed at 3:00 pm.

Spitfire Striker underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hindleg paw.  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Geoffrey Mitchell regarding the racing manners of Spitfire Striker in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr Mitchell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Tweet It Sweet underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  

Moon Flower was quick to begin.  Stay Strong and Lightning Gadget were slow to begin.

Stay Strong checked off Clean Slate approaching the first turn.  Stay Strong galloped on Always Ho Ho on the first turn, checking Always Ho Ho.  Moon Flower, Fearless Pigeon and Rev Up Angel collided on the home turn, checking Moon Flower.

Typhoon Bolt was quick to begin.  Aston Flame was slow to begin.
