Steward's Report
Enraged and Johnny Daniels were slow to begin.
Engraged faltered at the 150 metre mark, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle and right hamstring muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Dusty Gold underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have an abrasion to the muzzle area. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Chasing Minty raced ungenerously soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hock - no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Sandra Elmes regarding the racing manners of Chasing Minty. After hearing submissions from Ms Elmes, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.
Dark Night visibly eased at the 50m mark, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Maria Barber regarding the greyhound’s racing manners . Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dark Night was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Barber pleaded guilty to the charge, Dark Knight was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
