An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Fastnet, Hill Top Jack, Koblenz, Lala Ivory, Plan Ahead, Qwara Bale, Shima Classic and Keep it Black on 18th August pursuant to GAR 79A.
An out of competition sample was taken from Lala Kiwi and Weblec Blazer on 19th August pursuant to GAR 79A.
Keep It Black and Plan Ahead were slow to begin.
Keep It Black and Koblenz collided soon after the start. Qwara Bale and Lala Ivory collided approaching the first turn checking Qwara Bale, Hill Top Jack, Keep It Black and Plan Ahead causing Plan Ahead to contact the running rail. Hill Top Jack and Plan Ahead collided on the second turn checking Plan Ahead. Koblenz checked off Lala Kiwi entering back straight. Lala Ivory and Keep It Black collided in the back straight checking Lala Ivory. Koblenz brushed the running rail on the third turn.
Qwara Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Plan Ahead underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Post-race samples were taken from Lala Kiwi (1st), Shima Classic (2nd) and Koblenz (3rd).
