Steward's Report
Elswyk Suzie was quick to begin. Mt. View Buck was slow to begin. Airly Liberty, Elswyk Suzie and Crystal Edition collided approaching the first turn. Andrea’s Gift visibly eased on the first turn. Aqua Blaze was checked off Andrea’s Gift on the home turn. Airly Liberty raced wide in the home straight. Andrea’s Gift visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Andrea’s Gift underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Representative Mr. G. Condon declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Condon, the representative for Andrea’s Gift regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn and again approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Andrea’s Gift was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Condon pleaded guilty to the charge, Andrea’s Gift was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
