An out of competition sample was taken from Mario Bale on Friday, 13 August 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Worms Are Biting and Grand Warrior were slow to begin.

Worms Are Biting and Mario Bale collided soon after the start, checking Worms Are Biting.  Benefit Summary and Grand Giveaway collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn; checking Grand Giveaway and Worms Are Biting.  Mario Bale and Grand Warrior collided approaching the home turn.  Benefit Summary, Mario Bale and Grand Warrior collided approaching the home turn; checking Benefit Summary and Mario Bale. In the home straight  Key Effort turned its head inwards  and collided with Pull Shot.  Pull Shot and Grand Warrior collided approaching the winning post, checking Grand Warrior.

Key Effort underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hindleg.  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Jason Formosa regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Key Effort was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Key Effort was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B(2)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
