Steward's Report
A sample was taken from El Dorado upon arrival at the course.
Balt's Flying was quick to begin. Rufus Scrimgeour and El Dorado were slow to begin.
Rufus Scrimgeour and El Dorado collided soon after the start. Zipping Loxley and Rufus Scrimgeour collided soon after the start. Zipping Loxley checked off El Dorado and collided with Ridge, Retro Rocket and Steamer Redeemer on the first turn checking Zipping Loxley, Rufus Scrimgeour, Ridge and Steamer Redeemer. Taiepa and Zipping Loxley collided several times on the second turn checking Zipping Loxley and Ridge. Ridge and Steamer Redeemer collided on the second turn. El Dorado galloped on Balt's Flying approaching the third turn checking Balt's Flying.
Stewards spoke to Mr Matthew Marshall (via telephone), the trainer of Balt's Flying after they left the course today without Stewards permission and without having the greyhound vetted following the event. Stewards issued Mr. Marshall with a warning pursuant to GAR 42 (2). Mr. Marshall returned to the course with Balt's Flying and underwent a post-race veterinary examination. Balt's Flying was found to have a left carpal sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
