Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff and participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore face masks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Cabernet Girl was quick to begin. Foxtrot Tango and Aston Nixon were slow to begin.
Flowerpot Fox crossed in soon after the start checking Zac's Entity and Foxtrot Tango. Aston Nixon checked off Don't Tell Bluey soon after the start. Flowerpot Fox and Western Blazer collided soon after the start. Western Blazer checked off Cabernet Girl on the first turn. Flowerpot Fox, External Link and Aston Nixon collided on the first turn; External Link fell as a result. Flowerpot Fox veered out and marred Aston Nixon on the first turn.
External Link underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Flowerpot Fox underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle and shoulder. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Joske, the representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Flowerpot Fox was charged with marring. Mr. Joske pleaded not guilty to the charge, Flowerpot Fox was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Don't Tell Bluey - winner of the event.
