Steward's Report
Matilda Flyer was quick to begin. Weeona Evie and Oda May were slow to begin. Matilda Flyer and Pat My Lass collided soon after the start. Matilda Flyer and Write About Her collided on the first turn severely checking Matilda Flyer. Shallot visibly eased on the first turn. Pat My Lass and Frothy Friday collided on the home turn. Write About Her raced wide in the home straight. Pat My Lass crossed out in the home straight. Shallot turned its head inwards in the home straight. Shallot visibly eased appproaching the winning post.
Shallot underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right flexor tendon. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr. S. Whyte regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn, in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Shallot was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Whyte pleaded guilty to the charge, Shallot was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
