Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Wiggle It Bart, Deltora Quest and Blackzin Prince were slow to begin.
Deltora Quest and Blackzin Prince collided soon after the start. Okay Karen and Dundee Topaz collided soon after the start. Little Spriggy and Wiggle It Bart collided several times from soon after the start to the 300m mark. Feel The Rhythm visibly eased and turned its head to the inside at the 300m mark and collided with Audacious Flame. Little Spriggy, Wiggle It Bart, Okay Karen and Audacious Flame collided at the 300m mark and again approaching the 250m mark checking Okay Karen and Audacious Flame. Little Spriggy and Okay Karen collided at the 250m mark checking both greyhounds. Little Spriggy crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark checking Okay Karen. Wiggle It Bart checked off Dundee Topaz at the 50m mark.
Feel The Rhythm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 4. Feel The Rhythm was found to have an injury to the left shoulder. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms Claire Allen, regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 300m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Feel The Rhythm was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Allen pleaded guilty to the charge, Feel The Rhythm was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
