A pre-race sample was taken from Blackpool Astro.
Blackpool Astro and Inter Santina collided soon after the start. Buddy Goes Bang checked off Eddie Lee at the 200m mark. Inter Santina and Eddie Lee collided approaching the winning post. Buddy Goes Bang faltered at the 150m mark and lost considerable ground.
It was noted that the muzzle of Inter Santina became dislodged during the running of the event.
Inter Santina underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration below the left eye. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Buddy Goes Bang underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right hind thigh and left triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
