Stewards inquired into the kennel arrangements of Ieisha Bale after being advised that the greyhound was now in New South Wales.  During the course of those inquiries, Stewards ascertained Ieisha Bale was both transferred earlier in the week and was also injured.  Stewards formally withdrew the greyhound at 2.36pm today.  After taking evidence from NSW participant Mr Simon Rhodes, GRV Stewards issued a charge under GAR 23 (1)(b) in that Mr. Rhodes failed to advise the Controlling Body prior to the appointed scratching time of 8.30am on the day of the race to withdraw Ieisha Bale (and ensure the reserve was allocated a run). Mr Rhodes acknowledged an offence, was fined $200 with $100 suspended pending no further breaches of GAR 23 for a 6 month period. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr. Rhodes' acknowledgment of the offence, his personal antecedence and submissions on penalty. Against these factors, Stewards considered the need for general deterrence and that a reserve greyhound was denied a start in the race. A veterinary certificate is also required pursuit to GAR 20 (3) (v) before any further nominations are accepted.

Rilynn Bale was quick to begin.  Pay The Prince was slow to begin. 

Aston Mireya, Aston Profit, Blazing Demon and Cruisy's Special collided approaching the first turn, checking Blazing Demon and Cruisy's Special.  Blazing Demon checked off Aston Profit approaching the home turn.  Cruisy's Special and Pay The Prince collided in the home  straight.  Cruisy's Special and Aston Profit collided in the home straight. Rilynn Bale and Kiss Your Lips collided approaching the winning post.
