Steward's Report
I'm Ace Osti was quick to begin. Banjo Edition was slow to begin.
Banjo Edition and Burgin Beauty collided approaching the first turn. Banjo Edition eased on the first turn, turned its head outwards severely checking Burgin Beauty which was checked for the remainder of the event. Saniyah Bale and I'm Ace Osti collided on the home turn. I'm Ace Osti checked off Saniyah Bale in the home straight.
Banjo Edition underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr. Whitford declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Trevor Whitford, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Banjo Edition was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Banjo Edition was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
I'm Ace Osti underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Michael Niele regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. After hearing evidence from Mr Niele, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
