Steward's Report
All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Stewards were advised that the track was deep harrowed on Saturday, 22 May 2021.
Myola Frost, Cinderella Storm and Classy Edition were quick to begin.
Al's Son, Mt. View Burner and Rebel Bowie collided approaching the first turn. Mt. View Burner galloped on the heels of Al's Son on the first turn. Rebel Bowie and Xena Redeemer collided on the first turn. Cinderella Storm and Classy Edition collided approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds. Al's Son checked off Cinderella Storm on the home turn. Rebel Bowie brushed the running rail on the home turn. Xena Redeemer raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight and trailled the field Cinderella Storm and Up There Red collided approaching the winning post.
Xena Redeemer underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Formosa, the trainer of Xena Redeemer regarding its performance on the home turn and in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Xena Redeemer must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
In accordance with LR 22 Mr Jason Formosa was issued with a warning regarding the non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.
In accordance with LR 22 Ms Cassendra Jayakody was issued with a warning regarding the non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.
