Steward's Report
Gold Ostare - Late scratching at 10:52am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hind toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Pink.
Wired was slow to begin and collided with Zipping Pink soon after the start.
Deadly Walk and Boes Reward collided approaching the 300m mark. Deadly Walk checked off No Tickles approaching the 250m mark. Zipping Pink veered out at the 150m mark and turned its head. Zipping Pink collided with Beers On Brody at the 50m mark checking Tiny Shiny, and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Zipping Pink underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Cheryl Sutcliffe, the trainer of Zipping Pink regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 150m mark and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Zipping Pink was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Sutcliffe pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Pink was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
