Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Horace Bale.
Horace Bale and Blazin' Jewel collided approaching the first turn. Astro Naughton and Chasing Love collided on the first turn. Horace Bale and Blazin' Jewel collided on the first turn severely checking Horace Bale. Astro Naughton checked off Chasing Love on the home turn. Chasing Love and Avery collided in the home straight. Blazin' Jewel turned its head outward approaching the winning post.
Horace Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer and was found to have abrasions on the right forefoot and left achilles. No stand down period was imposed.
Blazin' Jewel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 6 - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Trevor Whitford regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Blazin' Jewel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Whitford pleaded not guilty to the charge, Blazin' Jewel was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
