Elite Tulip went up with the lids and was slow to begin.
Altona Girl and Surfing Minnie collided approaching the first turn checking Surfing Minnie. Elite Tulip, Surfing Minnie, Rich Azz Yeew and Don's WIld Child collided on the first turn checking Surfing Minnie. Rich Azz Yeew and Don's Wild Child collided approaching the home turn checking Don's Wild Child which tailed off. Altona Girl galloped on the heels of Tigress Eight approaching the home turn checking Tigress Eight. Altona Girl and Tigress Eight collided in the entering the home straght. Altona Girl eased in the home straight and collided with Tigress Eight checking Tigress Eight.
Don's Wild Child was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Howat, the trainer of greyhound Altona Girl. Altona Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shoulder and the right wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR69(B)(1), the stewards charged Altona Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
