Steward's Report
Dr. Samson, Cawbourne Saleen and Khandi Khandi were slow to begin. Dr. Samson and Cawbourne Saleen collided soon after the start. Blue Tartan and Black Tilly collided at the 300m mark. Dr. Samson and Cawbourne Saleen collided several times from the 300m mark until the 250m mark. Dr. Samson, Cawbourne Saleen and Hey Rhonda collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Cawbourne Saleen and Hey Rhonda. Hey Rhonda and Khandi Khandi collided approaching the 150m mark. Cawbourne Saleen eased approaching the 100m mark and collided with Kathy's Queen. Cawbourne Saleen eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Marshall, the trainer of the greyhound Cawbourne Saleen. Cawbourne Saleen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained lower back soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cawbourne Saleen with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
