Fully Charged and Koko Kola collided soon after the start. Billy Rocket crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Prince Lark, checking Talk And Run, Surf Jester, Bin Dunc and Prince Lark. Surf Jester checked off Billy Rocket at the 300m mark.
Stewards noted that during the running of the event, the muzzle of Surf Jester became dislodged.
