Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Quinto Bale and Vintage Girl were quick to begin.  Mystify Kick was slow to begin.

Raja Bale and Son Of Fabio collided soon after the start.  Departure Gate and Showtime Boomer collided soon after the start.   Security Man and Vintage Girl collided on the first turn checking Quinto Bale, Departure Gate and Showtime Boomer, causing Security Man to fall.  Son Of Fabio, Quinto Bale and Mystify Kick collided approaching the second turn severely checking Quinto Bale and Mystify Kick, Son Of Fabio turned its head outwards and marred Mystify Kick.  Departure Gate visibly eased entering the back straight.  Showtime Boomer checked off Mystify Kick in the back straight.  Showtime Boomer visibly eased approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Departure Gate crossed out approaching the home turn and marred Son Of Fabio.  Showtime Boomer and Mystify Kick collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Departure Gate and Son Of Fabio collided approaching the winning post. 

Son Of Fabio underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an internal oblique injury to the right hindleg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Richard Hill, the trainer of Son Of Fabio regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the second turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Son Of Fabio was charged with marring.  Mr. Hill pleaded not guilty to the charge, Son Of Fabio was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr Hill stated that the greyhound Son Of Fabio will be retiree. 

Departure Gate underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Angela Langton, the representative of Departure Gate regarding its performance entering the back straight.  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Departure Gate must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards noted the significant interference in the race causing the greyhound to lose sight of the lure.

Showtime Boomer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr. Matthew Clarke, the trainer of Showtime Boomer regarding its performance approaching the home turn and entering the home straight.  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Showtime Boomer must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards noted the significant interference in the race causing the greyhound to lose sight of the lure.

Security Man underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion and laceration to the left hind leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Mystify Kick underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Kevin Rickards regarding the racing manners of Mystify Kick. After hearing evidence from Mr Richards, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.

Riccarton Rick was quick to begin.

Kuro Kismet, Go Nera and Crumlin collided on the first turn.  Full Flight checked off Tinker Luke in the back straight.  Tinker Luke and Full Flight collided approaching the third turn.  Kuro Kismet checked off Riccarton Rick approaching the third turn.  Tinker Luke and Full Flight collided in the home straight.

Yellowtail Bear was quick to begin and crossed in soon after the start. 

Ovens Angler, Jane Way and War Drum Express collided on the first turn.  Ovens Angler and War Drum Express collided in the front straight.  War Drum Express checked off Ovens Angler on the second turn.  Happy Hannah, Yellowtail Bear and Jane Way collided in the back straight checking Happy Hannah and Yellowtail Bear.  War Drum Express checked off Ovens Angler in the back straight.  Happy Hannah galloped on War Drum Express approaching the home turn checking Happy Hannah and Yellowtail Bear.  Blue Gal crossed in in the home straight and collided with Weblec Bloom.

Walk Me Home and Razor's Edge collided soon after the start.  Fernandes, Rall's Girl, Razor's Edge, Walk Me Home and Lektra Dude collided on the first turn checking Callister, Delancy Bale and severely checking Razor's Edge.  Walk Me Home and Delancy Bale collided approaching the home turn severely checking Walk Me Home.  

Razor's Edge underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was to have a left hind spike wound.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Double Supreme underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no appapent injury was reported. Dewana Classic, Mepunga Katie and Dundee Jazz collided on the first turn checking Dewana Classic and Dundee Jazz, causing Mepunga Katie to fall, tailing off as a result.  Fernando Frank, Sharni's My Girl and Shanlyn Charlott collided on the second turn severley checking Shanlyn Charlott and Sharni's My Girl.  Chill Out Webby and Fernando Frank collided entering the back straight.  

Mepunga Katie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right satorius injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Drumroll Please was quick to begin.  Smokin' Cindy and Smooth Talker were slow to begin.

I'm A Krakourer, Freya The Slayer and Party Lights collided on the first turn checking Party Lights.  Paint Peeler and Smooth Talker collided in the front straight checking Paint Peeler.  Party Lights and Smooth Talker collided on the second turn causing Smooth Talker to contact the running rail.  Paint Peeler and Broadway Bullet collided in the back straight.

Smooth Talker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  A 3 day stand day period was imposed.

Shy But Savage, Will Do and Ivy Isobel were slow to begin.
