The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

The Track was medium harrowed on 8 November, 2020.

Chasing Opal was slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Lot Lizard, the winner of the Event.

Black Jam was very slow to begin - 2 lengths.

She's A Looker and Double Zero collided at the 200m mark.

A post-race sample was taken from She's A Looker, the winner of the Event.

This event was all clear.

Shady Talks was slow to begin.

Another Avatar and Shady Talks collided soon after the start. Princess America, Courtney Lee, Thirty Red, Another Avatar and Shady Talks collided at the 250m mark. Remember Jimmy and Tin Can Sam collided several times from the 250m mark to the 150m mark. Thirty Red checked off Shady Talks approaching the 200m mark checking Another Avatar. Thirty Red and Another Avatar collided at the 150m mark. Remember Jimmy and Tin Can Sam collided approaching the 100m mark. Remember Jimmy checked off Tin Can Sam approaching the 50m mark. Courtney Lee and Tin Can Sam collided approaching the winning post.

Smoking Syd was slow to begin.

Aqua Percy and Collinda Dodge collided soon after the start. Aqua Percy checked off Luboko approaching the 300m mark. Pronator and Sharpedo collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark checking Pronator. Boes High Five checked off Collinda Dodge at the 200m mark. Aqua Percy checked off Boes High Five at the 150m mark.

A post-race sample was taken from Smoking Syd - the winner of the event.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to allow Melanistic to change into the correct race rug.

Melanistic was slow to begin. Challis Sprite stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.

Zambora Andy checked off Scorching Ember soon after the start. Melanistic and Challis Sprite collided approaching the 300m mark. Red Hot Chance and Zambora Andy collied approaching the 250m mark and again at the 250m mark checking both greyhounds. Red Hot Chance checked off Zambora Andy approaching the 200m mark. Melanistic checked off Challis Sprite approaching the 100m mark.

Stewards conducted an Inquiry in relation to the circumstances surrounding the incorrect rug being placed on Melanistic which was not identified until the greyhounds reached the 350m boxes for this Event necessitating a changeover of racing rug.  After taking evidence from Trainer - Mr. G. Tatti, GRIU Casual Racing Steward and the HGA Parade Steward, Stewards fined Mr. G. Tatti the sum of $100 pursuant to GAR86(o) for negligently placing an incorrect rug on Melanistic.  Stewards also issued warnings to both Raceday Officials, namely - GRIU Casual Racing Steward and HGA Parade Steward for not identifying the error prior to the greyhounds leaving the parade yard for the boxes. This matter will also be referred to the relevant Departmental Managers for their attention.

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for greyhound Too Much Talking with Trainer - Mr. S. Kaltsis, and noted his comments. 

Too Much Talking and Dire Straights collided at the 275m mark. Too Much Talking and Dire Straights collided at the 250m mark. Maximum Capers and Dire Straights collided at the 200m mark. Maximum Capers checked off Stella Diamond at the 100m mark.

Too Much Talking underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

A post-race sample was taken from Kody Talks, the winner of the Event.

Wilbury and Mad Mcenroe collided at the 275m mark. Mad Mcenroe and Westside Guru collided at the 250m mark.

A post-race sample was taken from Mad Mcenroe, the winner of the Event.

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Elegant Malt with Representative - Mr. A. Formosa (representing Trainer - Ms. C. Downie) and noted his comments. 

Further Dreamer and Jimmy Goes Bang were slow to begin.

Shaun John and Challis Magic collided soon after the start. Jimmy Goes Bang, Elegant Malt and Shaun John collided at the 200m mark checking all three greyhounds. Jimmy Goes Bang and Shaun John collided at the 150m mark.

Elegant Malt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hindleg. No stand down period was imposed.
