Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lonnie Loot.
Star Ballerina was quick to begin. Dundee Jazz, Lonnie Loot, Lump Sum, Cherokee Fawn and Panda Rose collided soon after the start checking Cherokee Fawn, Lump Sum and Dundee Jazz. Madalia Brodie was checked off She Wiggles on the first turn. Lump Sum and Dundee Jazz collided on the second turn checking Dundee Jazz. Madalia Brodie lost ground over the concluding stages of the event.
Madalia Brodie underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Fogarty the trainer of Madalia Brodie regarding the greyhound's performance in this event. Mrs. Fogarty stated she thought that the greyhound would be more competitive over the longer journey but would return the greyhound to a more suitable distance in future events. Stewards accepted Mrs. Fogarty's explanation and took no further action.
