Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Bearing Gold.
Mayhem's Quest was slow to begin. Dashing Dante, Bearing Gold and Zipping Django collided soon after the start checking Bearing Gold. Speed Demon, Bearing Gold and Mick's Multi collided approaching the first turn checking Speed Demon and Mick's Multi. Bearing Gold and Mayhem's Quest collided on the first turn checking Bearing Gold. Portelli Punk raced wide approaching the home turn. Dashing Dante and Zipping Django collided in the home straight. Portelli Punk turned its head inwards approaching the winning post checking Dashing Dante and Zipping Django.
Portelli Punk underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right wrist injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. Ray Floyd, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Portelli Punk was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Floyd pleaded guilty to the charge, Portelli Punk must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
