Steward's Report
Baz The Rocket - Late scratching at 5.19pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hind paw injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Black Mintie.
Black Mintie and Natural Cruiser collided soon after the start. Natural Cruiser, Kraken Smick and What Price Bucks collided on the first turn checking Kraken Smick. What Price Bucks and What's Up Skip collided approaching the home turn. Natural Cruiser crossed out and turned it's head outwards in the home straight checking Scraping Paint.
Rock Johnson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left front monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Natural Cruiser underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Frank Andrighetto regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1, Natural Cruiser was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Andrighetto pleaded not guilty to the charge, Natural Cruiser was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Rock Johnson - Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
