Steward's Report

Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Big Bash Maddy - Late scratching at 2:44pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to right triangle injury. A10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Kibitzer - New declared weight of 27.7 kg, last raced at 25.7 kg.

Up The Dale - New declared weight of 28.3 kg, last raced at 30.0 kg.

Nigerian Kaboom was slow to begin.

Rosie's Delight and Up The Dale collided soon after the start.  Rosie's Delight and Nigerian Kaboom collided on the first turn.  Up The Dale visibly eased in the home straight.  

Up The Dale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 6 - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr Lindsay Fulford, the presentative of Up The Dale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Up The Dale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge, Up The Dale is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rosie's Delight underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from Rosie's Delight - unplaced in the event.
