Veritee Bale was quick to begin. Wellington Boot and Virtual Flash were slow to begin.

Virtual Flash lost ground from soon after the start and subsequently tailed off. Veritee Bale, Blackpool Storm and Moraine Shadow collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Och Eye Mum, Wellington Boot and Waratah Miss collided on the first turn checking Och Eye Mum and Waratah Miss.

Virtual Flash underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
